Owner & CEO
I have over 40 years of construction experience as a third-generation contractor from Marblehead, Massachusetts. After earning a marketing degree from Arizona State University, I've used my construction expertise in various roles such as a certified home inspector, general contractor, and television host. I've been featured on national TV shows like "Home Improvement Magazine" and even appeared as an expert on OPRAH in 1992. With 15 years of experience as a landscape designer and builder, I founded Outside Living Concepts in 2004 to offer top-notch customer service and turn dreams into reality.
Derek Havens
Design & Build Consultant
I am a 4th-generation contractor specializing in outdoor landscaping. Although a Massachusetts native, I grew up in Phoenix and have spent years working with people all over the valley to extend their outdoor living space. My goal is to create an outdoor landscape tailored to my clients' specific needs and desires. I pride myself on building lasting relationships with home owners for current and future projects- communication, trust and finding creative solutions surely sets me apart from the competition.

My passion for outdoor living spaces started at a young age. I was inspired by my father's ability to transform our backyard in Arizona into a tropical paradise. This taught me that the only limits are money and imagination. As a child, I would follow my dad to his jobs, listening to homeowners share their visions. It was amazing to see those visions come to life in just a few months. When I decided to pursue a career in landscape design, it didn't take long for me to realize that this was one of the best decisions I ever made. I fell in love with helping homeowners turn their landscaping dreams into reality. Landscape design is about more than just aesthetics; it's about creating outdoor spaces where family and friends can gather, relax, and make memories. It's a place to escape after a long day and a space for kids to play.
Corbin Keiper

I am an Arizona native who grew up enjoying the creativity of Outside Living Concepts transforming our beautiful backyard into our great room for making family memories year after year. Summer days are filled with splashing water in our pool, our putting green continues to challenge our skill and competitive spirit year-round, our firepit is our favorite place to gather for S’Mores, laughs & genuine conversations. As your designer, my goal is to turn your vision into reality. You can expect transparency, honest advice, and quick responses to your questions. I'll be involved throughout the process- from the initial consultation to the final walkthrough- helping you plan and build a dynamic, innovative living space to build lasting memories.

Todd Comin
Senior Design & Build Consultant
I have three decades of experience in the landscape industry and have helped build some of the largest companies in the Phoenix area and trained dozens of design professionals and project managers along the way. Equally versed in traditional and contemporary styles, I bring a wealth of knowledge to your landscape project. My experience with every facet of outdoor remodeling makes the client experience exciting and low stress. Living in the Valley for 35 years nearly qualifies me as an Arizona Native. I attended high school and college here in Mesa and Tempe and currently reside in Gilbert with my wife of 21 years, 3 children, a dog and a cat.
Fernando Mendoza
Senior Design & Build Consultant
I studied architectural design in 1988 and quickly found my passion for creating outdoor spaces in Phoenix. Since then, I've worked with several landscape companies in Arizona and New Mexico, and managed important projects in Las Vegas and Prescott Valley. I focus on Spanish/Tuscan styles with a desert tropical touch as I believe it's important to design in a way that fits our desert environment and lifestyle. It's rewarding to see my clients enjoy the beautiful backyards I've designed for them. Being detail-oriented and customer-focused, working hard for homeowners in a straightforward way, our dedicated teams make the construction process enjoyable while creating lovely outdoor spaces that enhance your home. In 2004, I relocated to South Chandler, Arizona, and witnessed firsthand the rapid development of Chandler and its surrounding areas. During my time in high school and college, I developed a strong interest in observing construction projects progress from initial designs on paper and computer models to fully completed structures. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the satisfaction on a client’s face when their project is successfully brought to life.
